Why we’re building Zaizen
AI agents can help you write software, but keeping the project together is still a lot of work. Plans live in one place, conversations in another, and changes need to be checked before you know what’s actually ready.
We’re building Zaizen to make that work easier to follow. You should be able to understand what’s being built, what’s working, and what needs your attention without piecing it together from every agent conversation.
A clearer view of the work
Zaizen connects the project plan with the work your agents do. Tasks, changes, checks, and decisions belong together, so you can look beyond a progress update and understand the result.
The aim is to give you useful context when a decision comes back to you: what changed, what was checked, and what still needs review. You can follow the project at a glance and look more closely when you need to.
That matters whether you’re building your first application, developing a product as a founder, or coordinating several coding agents as an experienced developer.
Open source, with a choice of where to run
Zaizen is open source and free to run on your own computer. You can inspect the code, adapt it to your setup, and use supported agent subscriptions or your own API keys. Charges from your AI providers are separate.
